Twitch has officially revealed its dates and locations for TwitchCon 2024, where swarms of content creators, fans, and gamers unite for a weekend of nerding out. As with years before, there will be two conventions held in 2024.
Revealed in a Twitter post this afternoon, Twitch confirmed the Dutch city of Rotterdam as the host of TwitchCon Europe, and the Californian city of San Diego as the location for TwitchCon in the United States. TwitchCon returns to San Diego after a huge event in Las Vegas last year after content creator Adriana Chechik broke her back in a poorly filled foam pit in 2022.
The Rotterdam TwitchCon will take place between June 29 and June 31, at the Ahoy venue in the centre of the Dutch city and will also play host to the event for 2025 and 2026. San Diego TwitchCon will once again be held at the city's massive convention centre, between September 20 and September 22.
Twitch also confirmed that the San Diego venue will be TwitchCon's host for the coming years, with the venue booked all the way through to 2028. Tickets for TwitchCon Europe are due to go on sale in February, although there's been no confirmation just yet regarding tickets for San Diego.
The news comes just days after Twitch laid off over a third of its employees, and CEO Dan Clancy took to both Twitter and his own streaming platform to address the concerns of streamers and viewers alike. He confirmed that Twitch is still going strong, and the reveal of this year's TwitchCon dates only solidifies the streaming platform's reach.
TwitchCon is a chance to celebrate IRL with gamer friends and streaming communities, for fans, content creators, and huge industry names. As usual, CEO Dan Clancy will kick things off with an opening ceremony at both events, with panels returning to the Glitch stage and a Creator Camp tailored towards streamers wanting to learn and hone their skills with their peers.
