Breakdown

  • The recent update to Pokemon Go has made it difficult for players to play the game in peace due to the glitches introduced to the game.
  • The ball keeps on resetting to its original position, and the throws go very far.
  • Glitches can be solved by turning off the “Native Refresh Rate” option.

Pokémon Go has recently seen an update that has made it a lot harder for players to catch Pokémon. Following the update, players are experiencing some glitches, which can become pretty annoying when they happen often.

Since the release of the Pokémon Go World of Wonders season, it has received mixed reviews. Initially, this season started with some exciting events that gained popularity, but since the new Avatar update was introduced, the season has only seen criticism.

For players who want to play the game at 60FPS, there is an option called 'Native Refresh Rate.' Unfortunately, after the update, this setting has been causing glitches in the game. One of the glitches is the Pokéball reset, where the ball keeps resetting to its original position.

Another glitch that players are facing is that the ball never hits the Pokemon; even the perfect curveball throws go far away, out of the screen. “Whenever I throw a ball it goes as far as possible so I'm here wasting about 10 balls trying to catch a Pidgey,” says a Reddit user.

Additionally, the game is unable to register the fast moves of players at times, putting players at a significant disadvantage against opponents in the Pokemon Go Battle League.

Players, as usual, have found some workarounds to deal with these problems. One way is to turn off the native refresh rate, whereas another is to reduce the game's refresh rate. Although this would ruin the smoothness of the game, this has helped many players with the problems of the update.

A Reddit user commented, “Apparently it helps to turn off native refresh rate, but honestly why is there always a new issue with this game?! I feel like since I started playing again a few weeks ago it's just one (big or small) disaster after another... Give us a break...”.

The update has had a big effect on the Pokémon Go community. It has made the game a lot harder. However, players are hopeful that future updates will fix these problems. Till then, we will just have to play with the workarounds for these update problems.
