Pokémon GO’s Killer New Feature is a Breath of Fresh Air

It looks like Pokémon GO is getting some much-needed positive attention, as fans are enjoying some of the mobile app’s new AR features. While there are still things in the game to complain about, slowly introducing more features like this could win back some critics.

Dexerto reports that the new AR photo features have been a big hit with fans of the game, letting them take pictures of their Pokémon in fun locations. Players can now take one picture with three of their Pokémon, usually leading to some really fun animations in the app.

Fans have been using this Pokémon GO feature a ton and are having plenty of fun with it, often putting their Pokémon in funny situations. There’s a great post on Reddit that has Squirtle, Wartotle, and Blastoise taking a picture with an actual turtle, which is weirdly heartwarming.

Seeing Niantic commit to these features and making fans of the app happy is a breath of fresh air for many. Considering some of the changes Niantic made to the game, we’re surprised that there are still this many fans enjoying the app. As long as Niantic can keep fans happy this way, the app might not be a hated mobile app anymore.

We’ve seen how Niantic has treated its fans before, prioritizing players who pay their way to events and charging more for certain items. They’ve even nerfed the game a few times when Pokémon were popping up more than expected, disappointing many fans in the process.
